Speed up treatment for child birth

My husband had a surgery in his leg in childhood.

After that he met with an accident and a steel rod has been fixed in his laps. I came to know about this after my marriage only.

Now, because of this my marital life is affected and delaying child birth. He is not willing to come out with me for anything and postponing the treatment also.

He is telling that he will be like this only and will do everything according to his wish (including treatment, child).

If I want I can continue to live with him or else go my way.

Please suggest remedies to speed up the treatment and get the desired result and also make him to live a happy married life.
